Islamabad – IGP calls in the police officials and says do more

In the current year, the crime rate in Capital city Islamabad has soared and if we compare the crime cases registered in the same period last year, they are far less.

The Islamabad Capital Police have failed to ensure safety of the citizens and their property, despite the Federal Capital being home to foreign missions and other internal dignitaries there has been no apparent effort seen from the law enforcing authorities of the Capital.

In the wake of it all, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Bani Amin Khan called up a meeting which was attended by AIG (Operations) Dr. Sultan Azam Temuri, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yusuf Malik, all four SP, all Sub Divisional Police Officers and In-Charge ACLC and Station House Officers.

The purpose of the meeting was to tackle the soaring crime rate in the capital by taking further effective steps to control crime, and mitigate the sufferings of the people by adopting a professional as well as responsible attitude.

It was a meeting majorly based on resolving the public complaints, and to take every step to ensure maximum relief to the citizens of Islamabad.

The IGP also directed the police to monitor the activities of car thieves who already have done their time in jail and bust these carjacking gangs. He also stressed for speedy disposals of cases and their investigation purely on merit.

It is a norm in the police department to delay things, and identifying this little problem which leads to major difficulty for the victims of a crime, IGP especially directed those officials who are responsible in delaying the cases and approach the matter sluggishly, will not be spared and strict action will be taken against them.

“Policing is a service oriented job and every police official must serve the humanity with devotion,” the IGP maintained.

The focus was to devise an effective strategy starting with the arrests of proclaimed offenders and other criminals who have been involved in heinous crimes before and are still at large.

The meeting was to ensure public safety and double the effort, because the lives and properties of citizens is the sole responsibility of the police.
