Moin Akhter’s family rejects the offer of Madame Tussauds to wax his statue at the museum

The Legendary comedian and Pakistani television, film and stage actor Moin Akhter, who was dearly loved for providing great humour for the people of all age groups in an etiquette that remains unmatched, continues to keep his country proud even after his death.

According to the sources, one of the world’s famous wax museum in London Madame Tussauds  showed interest in including a statue of the Pakistani heartthrob Moin Akhter as part of their collection of the world’s most influential personalities.

However Moin Akhter’s family rejected the offer citing religious grounds.

Mansoor Akhter, son of late Moin Akhter, confirmed the news as he told the media that he did receive a call from an international organization who wanted permission to include his father’s statue in the museum. Although Mansoor was not sure about the authenticity of the call and declined the offer citing religious reasons however he felt honoured to be asked by the London museum to wax Moin Akhter.

“While I am not sure if the call was genuine, I was overwhelmed when I received it as it is a huge honour as the museum houses wax figures of many of the world most renowned celebrities. However, making statues is forbidden in Islam so I rejected the offer due to religious reasons.”

The sources suggested that Madame Tussauds, who is famous for displaying waxworks of the royal and historical personalities including film celebrities, politicians and sports stars, wants Moin Akhter’s statue in their museum considering his extensive work in the field arts and they contacted Akhter’s family in this regards to pay a tribute to the Pakistani legend.

Although Akhter’s family dined the proposal from the London museum however it’s a big honour for them and the country as well as Moin Akhter (late) is the first Pakistani personality in the history to be contacted by Madame Tussauds.

Moin Akhter devoted 44 years of his life in promoting arts and entertaining audience and is still one of the most beloved actors in Pakistan without any doubt.
