The political dilemma of Imran Khan

More than a decade has been past since Imran Khan took a plunge into the politics of Pakistan but his future as a front line politician could not be shaped up to the dates. He has left no stone unturned to attract the attention of common man in general and the youth of Pakistan in particular but still has to get the solid grounds to make some difference in the coming general elections. No doubt, he has got great number of supporters among the motivated youth of the country that wish an ultimate change to clean the mess of our deteriorated past. However the main issue of converting the supporters into the voters stays still and so is the case with his political future.

Imran Khan emerged on the horizon of Pakistan as a great cricketer who led his side from nothing to world champs in 1992 and earned world wide fame. It was actually cricket that glamorised his personality and numbers of beauty queens were trapped in his long and bouncy hairs. He later on established himself as a social worker and laid the foundations of latest equipped cancer hospital in Lahore after the name of his late mother.

He remained undisputed hero of millions of people before he decided to right the wrongs of the politics of Pakistan. The greetings, he secured during charity campaigns of Shaukat Khanum, inspired him to play a vital role to uplift the time and again exploited nation.

However, as it is said that if wishes were horses then beggars would ride, he ignored the un-inevitable home work to successfully run a political party and never focused on secondary leadership. It looks quite awkward to participate in political shows before the lower leadership of other parties and the counterpart of your own party remain largely unknown. The biggest flaw back he has got at the moment is that of lack of supporting staff in his own lines. He has to handle most of party issues by himself and consequently most of the grass root issues remained uncovered as he is always focusing on prime matters of the time.

Recently, he has become the most discussed personality of the country and many people believe that he could be the redeemer under the given gloomy circumstances. But, ironically the mass is not ready to cast their vote to person who is representing Khan’s party in their electorate. The reason is that people don’t believe that Khan could lead them to what he often claims. He must end the idealism while making the promises to common man.

The clear cut support of establishment would further worsen the problems for him in the long runs. He is never capable of securing more than 10 seats of NA and such a small number is not sufficient to compel the government to come to terms over public issues. Furthermore, is now recruiting some familiar but ill-reputed politicians in his team which could harm his credibility. Mian Azhar is the fresh example and Ex Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is also expected to join the party in the coming days.

The inclusion of the entities which are famous to worship the rising sun in PTI would put a huge question mark on his credibility.
