Three more people lose battle against dengue in Lahore

 

Dengue mosquitoes attack continues to threatening the people, as three more people lost their lives due to dengue fever, in Lahore, on Saturday, October 15. It confirms that around 252 people have lost their lives due to dengue epidemic in Lahore.

The people, who fell prey to dengue, involves 62 years old Muhammad Asad of Wassanpura, Khadija, 20, a resident of Chauhan Road and Arif, 29. Asad and Khadija lost the battle against dengue at Mayo Hospital, while Arif died of dengue attack at Sheik Zayed Hospital.

Meanwhile, 74 dengue patients were diagnosed positive at Mayo Hospital. In addition, 48 dengue victims were tested positive at Jinnah Hospital, 44 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 28 at Services Hospital and 27 at Shaikh Zayed Hospital. Moreover, 24 dengue patients were reported positive at Lahore General Hospital, 21 at Institute of Public Health and 19 at Children’s Hospital.  In the meantime, there are many dengue patients in both the public and private healthcare centres, in Lahore city.

Around about 27,026 dengue patients are in the Punjab province, of whom, 17,000 belong to Lahore. 12,000 dengue victims have been provided a complete dengue treatment at the various hospitals and healthcare centres in the province, so they are in good health condition now. Many of them have been even discharged from the hospitals. Currently, 2000 dengue patients are being provided a complete dengue fever treatment at the various healthcare centres in the province.

In the meantime, MNA Marghoob Ahmad stated that Punjab government has decided to distribute free dengue safety kits to the needy people of Samanabad Town and nearby areas on Sunday.

On the other hand, Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif announced that Punjab government will offer 500000 to the successor of each person, who died due to dengue fever.  Meanwhile, Shahbaz has put emphasis on MNAs, MPAs, chief secretary, and secretaries of various departments to take immediate actions for the eradication of dengue virus at their own areas in the province.

Furthermore, Shahbaz Sharif said that everyone needs to work as a social worker in an attempt to eradicate the dengue mosquitoes from the province.
