Cheapmunks – A fusion of Eastern and Western music

There was a time when the most ideal Pakistani musical bands spotlighted boys at the music front, but not anymore! After the trend setter Zeb and Haniya, girl power is again verified in the music industry, by the distinctive reputation of Cheapmunks.

Attaining prominence among music lovers, this band has fortified its position in the industry, through its contemporary mix of music.

Their songs that are a mixture of filmi music, traditional pop-contemporary, R&B Alternative, Rap and Rock have spread promptly among the youngster.

This eminent band of girls never thought that their inimitable fusion of famous tracks will become a reason for their popularity. The lead vocalists Mehak Taherani and Suhana Baloch started off their journey with their mad love for music.

OMG- BABIA was their first ever mix that gained fame through internet. This band has provided a preeminent example of thriving Viral marketing on internet. This could be easily understood, by the peak of eminence they have achieved before presenting live in concerts and random musical shows.

Choosing one of the top tracks from western charts and experiment them by mixing it with eastern popular numbers, is what Cheapmunks do. This unique fusion number is then uploaded on Youtube as well as other social utilities (Facebook). These true music lovers has earned so much benefit through social networks that they ended up having live concerts and jamming sessions.

With the beautiful combination of their vocals and innovative ideas Suhana and Mehak has covered numerous songs, which are Imran Khan’s Bewafa, EP’s Hamesha, Sajjad Ali’s Babia, Usher’s Oh My Gosh, Akon’s Nosy Neighbour and Eminem Feat Rihanna’s The Way You Lie.

The startling music for their mix is produced by Daniyal and Hamza’s guitars, with a fanatical beat of table by the table player.

After acquiring a unanimous list of fans, this band is planning to create their own original numbers. It takes years for a band to attain such huge number of fan following, but Cheapmunks have been auspicious enough to make their place in the industry within few months.

The journey has just started for this band, there in yet more to come.
