One of the most renowned restaurants in Rawalpindi, Mei Kong offers Chinese at its best. Located in one of the busiest place in the city, the place has its own uniqueness and offers food like no other. Although their outlook seems shady, however, once you enter the place, it totally surprises you.

A product of Rahat Bakey, Mei Kong has created a special fan-following due to its unique taste, where every item on their menu stands out. On top of that, they tend to be friendly with every customer which is a positive thing, hardly seen these days.

Coming to the food, although there is a whole lot for everyone but if you want the regular stuff, which includes the Egg-fried rice and the usual gravy of your choice, it won’t cost you  much. All their soups are first-rate with Mei Kong special being my favorite.

If you are in a mood to spend heavy then try having their prawns, which will surely be money well spent. Also they offer free starters, a perfect gesture which cherishes one’s mood. Their serving comes hot, however, some times the order time can vary but the wait is worth it. Relating to starters, I am personally a big fan of fish cracker, however, their other offerings are all delicious and reasonably priced.

The ambience is excellent while the décor also impresses you. They have a friendly staff that is willingly there to guide you through the menu list. Apart from placing a order, one can now eat their buffet (provided your budget allows), which offers all their best items like prawns (not jumbo), fish, chowmein, choices in rice along with the regular gravy’s- chicken manchurain, Black-pepper, Beef chilli, etc.

Recently, they have also introduced high tea (relatively cheaper from other places) and Sunday Brunch, which has again showed the rise in the demand of their products. It is fair to say that it is a perfect place for family outings, college gathering , friends looking to hang out or simply for those looking to eat the best Chinese food in town.

The parking area is also spacious, so no such hassle of looking a place to park your car and with guards monitoring, it leaves you at ease at enjoying your meal.
