Shahrukh Khan asked to deposit Rs 1 crore before releasing ‘Ra One’ in Dewali
The superstar Shahrukh Khan’s dream project ‘Ra One’ has been rejected by Bombay High Court because scriptwriter and TV producer Yash Patnaik claimed that the writer of ‘Ra One’ stole the concept and the content of script from a story, he developed on December 26, 2006.
On Friday, Patnaik moved High Court and his lawyer Ravi Kadam told that the superhero of ‘Ra One’ is identical in appearance to the superhero of Patnaik’s film. As a result, Patnaik asked Shahrukh to give him the tribute for the movie’s idea and demanded the ten-percent of the film’s profit.
Kadam added, “The super-villain of Patnaik’s script was called ‘One’, which has been used by Shahrukh in the movie’s title.”
Shahrukh’s lawyer senior advocate Virendra Tulzapurkar disagreed with Kadam statement and said the ‘Ra.One’ was completely different. However, MHC took final decision and told Shahrukh to deposit Rs. 1 crore on Saturday for release of the film.
Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice Roshan Dalvi said, “The defendants (Red Chillies Entertainment and Eros Entertainment) are directed to deposit a sum of Rs 1 crore as pay-order to the court and then release the movie. It is the most unfortunate part of the film industry that people use others’ concepts and then don’t want to pay or give them credit.”
SKR was very excited to launch this movie on Dewali and he is to face big challenges ahead, as his co-film makers Hema Malini ‘Tell Me O Khuda’ and Himesh Reshammiya ‘Dammadam’ are also planning to launch their movies at the same event, but Patnaik’s recent claims have threatened the popularity of King Khan’s big hit. SRK has blamed that Patnaik has raised the issue, just with the purpose of black mailing him.
In this movie, Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal play main role while movie is written by Mushtaq Shaikh, Anubhav Sinha, and Kanika Dhillon. ‘Ra One’ will release in both 2D and 3D version.
Despite facing some controversies, King Khan’s movie is expected to be a big threat for other upcoming films.
