Dengue pandemic claims five more lives in the city, death toll increases from 285 to 290

According to official reports from the various hospitals and healthcare centres, five more people have succumbed to dengue attack, in Lahore, on Friday, October 21th. It confirms that the total death toll due to dengue pandemic in the city has increased from to 285 to 290.

68 years-old Razia of Mughalpura died due to dengue fever at Ghurki Hospital, while Ayaz Munir, a resident of Jhelum lost battle against dengue at Fauji Foundation Hospital. In addition, Ahmad Hussain, 80, an inhabitant of Bilal Ganj lost his life due to dengue fever at Services Hospital. Meanwhile, Naseem Bibi, 60, a resident of Faisalabad died of dengue attack at Mayo Hospital and Mohsin Ali, 70, an inhabitant of Green Town lost his life due to dengue at Jinnah Hospital.

The reports from various hospitals, healthcare centres, laboratories and clinics revealed that around about 55 dengue patients were diagnosed positive in Mayo Hospital. Almost 35 dengue cases were tested positive in Jinnah Hospital and 28 at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

More or less, 20 dengue new cases were reported positive in the Services Hospital and 16 in Shaikh Zayed Hospital. Around about 25 dengue victims were tested positive in Lahore General Hospital and16 in Institute of Public Health.  Approximately 12 dengue cases were tested positive in the Children’s Hospital.

 It has been confirmed by the reports of several hospitals and healthcare centres that over 29000 dengue patients belong to Punjab metropolis. One of the most alarming facts about the dengue epidemic is that over 17000 dengue patients belong to Lahore alone.

The good news is that around about 12000 dengue patients have been recovered and discharged after the treatment from the various private and public hospitals in the province. During the last 24 hours in the city of Lahore, almost 440 dengue sufferers have been recovered and discharged from various hospitals and clinics, on Friday.

On the whole, the majority of the people are unsatisfied due to the substandard works of the government of Punjab for the control of dengue in the city of Lahore. Meanwhile, many people have been criticizing on the efforts of the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for the control of dengue.
