Begum Nusrat Bhutto buried next to her husband Zulifqar Ali bhutto

Pakistan’s former first lady and the mother of the shaheed  Banazir Bhutto Begum Nusrat Bhutto’s funeral prayer held in Nauderao and she was buried next to her husband with the consent of the President Asif Ali Zardari and her relatives.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Bilawal Bhutto and many leaders and the activists of the Pakistan People’s Party attended the funeral prayer.

Begum Nusrat Bhutto was passed away in Dubai on October 23 at the age of 82. Her body was taken from the Dubai to Sukkur before reaching to Naudero. Her body was given a guard of honor at the Sukkur airport before taken to Naudero.

Meanwhile the acting president on yesterday approved conferment of Nishan-e-Imitiaz for the former first lady Nusrat Bhutto. According to the sources in the PM house, the acting president, speaker national assembly, Fahmida Mirza, has taken the decision with the consent of the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. PM also announced that the late first lady will be given the title of ‘Mother of Democracy’ for his services to the country.

President of PPP USA Shafqat Tanweer said he was ‘deeply saddened’ to hear the news of Nusrat Bhutto’s demise.

Tanweer, in a statement said that she was a great leader and a graceful lady who made immense contribution to the case of democracy in Pakistan and called her ‘mother of democracy’.

Also, PPP North Texas officials President Raja Zahid Khanzada, Senior Vice President Syed Fayyaz Hassin, Vice President Shahid Jafrri, General Secretary Akramah Khan, Dr Ghulam Nabi, Imtiaz Jan, Iftikhar Ifti, President PPP Houston Syed Riaz Husain paid tribute to her and said that her death is a huge loss to Pakistan.

Meanwhile PPP California announced Quran Khuwani on Tuesday along with memorial programs in Los Angles.
