Tarsem Singh’s IMMORTALS – Hitting the screens on 11.11.11 worldwide

From the producers of 300, Immortals is an upcoming 3D action adventure flick hitting not only on the theatres worldwide but also on the Pakistani big screens on 11th November, 2011.

The 3-D epic adventure, Immortals opens when the Titan Hyperion, starred by Mickey Rourke, declares war on humanity. He searches for the legendary Epirus Bow, created by Ares – the war god, which allows him to free the remaining Titans. His goal is to take revenge from the Olympians who caused their downfall. According to the historic laws, gods can’t interfere in the war between Hyperion and humanity. However Zeus chose Theseus, starred by Henry Cavill, who accompanied with a priestess Phaedra, acted by Freida Pinto, and a slave Stavros, starred by Stephen Droff, to protect everyone, humans and gods.

The Universal pictures and Relativity Media are releasing the movie in both 2D and in 3D (using the Real D 3D and Digital 3D formats) on the announced date.

The highly anticipated Immortals is directed by revolutionary visualist Tarsem Singh (The CellThe Fall) and produced by Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton, the producers of 300, as well as Ryan Kavanaugh.

The film was previously named Dawn of War and War of Gods before being officially named as Immortals. It is partially based on the Greek gods. It incorporates classical Greek myths of Theseus, king of Athens and the son of Poseidon, and the Titanomachy using 3D technology. The characters are portrayed after necessitating extensive post production.

The director, Singh used Renaissance painting styles to make this action movie. He went on to say, “Basically, Caravaggio meets Fight Club. It’s a really hardcore action film done in Renaissance painting style. I want to see how that goes; it’s turned into something really cool. I’m going for a very contemporary look on top of that so I’m kind of going with, you know, Renaissance time with electricity. So it’s a bit like Baz Luhrman doing Romeo + Juliet in Mexico; it’s just taking a particular Greek tale and half (make it contemporary) and telling it.”

The action packed 3D adventure, Immortal is a must watch movie for people of all genres.
