Tablets will be expensive to run Windows 8

Microsoft is planning to increase weight in the international market of tablets through its Windows 8 operating system. This company has invested much of its time, skills and money to turn this operating system into a global leader but some ironic facts about Windows 8 have started to hit the market months before its date of release.

The biggest fault being told about the tablets running Windows 8 is that they will be pricier than the tablets of Apple Inc, which is Microsoft’s rival as well as the world’s most valuable tablet manufacturer.

There are three reasons that relate to the high prices of upcoming Windows 8 tablets.

Screen Resolution Requirements:

Tablets Planet, a technology news website which keeps an eye on the latest tablets, has revealed that in order to get the best experience of Metro UI interface, the Windows 8 tablets should have at least the minimum screen resolution of 1366×768.

Memory Requirements:

The main reason behind the popularity growth of tablets is their extreme mobility and portability due to which we can use them anywhere. The mobility of tablets is heavily dependent upon their battery time, which increases when the device components consume less energy.

Authenticity Issues:

In past, Microsoft has used several methods for ending the piracy of its software but it has failed mostly in defending its products. This time it has decided to implement OA 3.0 verification system in Windows 8 at the place of its predecessor Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

In OA 3.0, the Windows 8 authorization codes will be installed in the firmware, that is the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) of tablets. These codes will be activated only through an internet connection through the correct keys.

But since the Windows 8 tablets will have the authentication keys installed in their firmware, there are zero percent Windows 8 piracy chances in these tablets. However, the customer sitting in market will suffer as its result since the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will spend more money on the production of BIOS. They will pass this excess cost to Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs) who will pass it to customers in market.
