Shahrukh Khan’s science fiction flick Ra One is set to become one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of the Indian film industry, as the film has got a positive response all over the world since its release on Diwali.

According to Nandu Ahuja from Eros International Media Ltd, “We are witnessing unparalleled collections across the country with record breaking figures from different territories.  The film has opened at 95 to 100% collections from most territories and is
a sure sign of one of the biggest blockbusters in the making in Bollywood. The second day figures have also broken records for the highest collections for a single day for an Indian film.”

Ra One was unable to break the record of Salman Khan’s movie Bodyguard, which earned 21 crores on the first day of its release.

The main reason for that was Shahrukh’s movie was released on Diwali and majority of the families were busy in pooja (prayers).

However, the movie started earning better from the second day onwards and the producers are extremely happy with the proceedings.

According to Kamal Jain, CFO Eros Entertainment Media, “Majority of the film’s costs have been recovered before the film hit theatres and the box office numbers are exemplary giving major boost to profitability. We are extremely happy with the box office
performance of the film as the same is very much in line with our expectations.”

The superhero film has Shahrukh in the lead role alongside the dazzling Kareena Kapoor. The latter has been enjoying a lot of success at the Box Office in recent times.

Kareena seems to be the popular choice of the ‘Khans’ in Bollywood, as she has been a part of their ventures recently.

The vivacious actress played a lead role in Amir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’ which proved to be a blockbuster. She was then a part of Salman’s record breaking Bodyguard.

However, the success of Ra One will be quite significant for both Kareena and Shahrukh, as the Indian film industry has not produced too many superhero flicks.

Things might change from now onwards though, as the audiences have given full marks to the special effects in Ra One.
