The Adventures of Tintin: Reaching soon in Pakistan

A performance captured 3D film, The Adventures of Tintin, based on the comics with a similar title and created by a Belgian artist Herge (Georges Remi). Directed by the famous Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson, this adventurous flick had already
hit the cinemas in United Kingdom, France and Belgium. Tintin’s adventure will arrive in Pakistan on November 18th, 2011.

For many years, generations living in Pakistan are buying Tintin mysterious second hand comics from old books shops etc. Now the people will finally have a chance to live the adventure boy’s experience.

The story starts with Tintin, acted by Jamie Bell, who buys a model ship of the Unicorn in a market in Brussels. He is soon inquired by Barneby (Joe Starr) and Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine (Daniel Craig) who both wanted to buy the same model as it holds the
key to uncovering the secret of Unicorn. The adventurous boy is then abducted by Allan and onboard, Tintin meets Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis).

It took over eight decades for Tintin to be brought on a 3D experience by Spielberg. With help from the latest technology and from the Jackson’s company – Weta Digital, the movie was finally possible. The filming was supposed to start in October 2008 for
a 2010 release but Universal backed out of producing with Paramount pictures. Regardless of Sony’s decision of co-producing, the delay caused their leading actor Thomas Sangster to depart from this project. Jackson then referred British Jamie Bell, who is
famous for the lead role in Billy Eliot.

The British born star, Bell was quoted in BBC News as saying, “Spielberg is the only guy who could have made this movie. In the comic books he’s (Tintin) not a living, breathing person. In the film, every strand of the quiff moves.”

The movie is based on three of the original comic books: The Crab with the Golden Claws (1941), The Secret of the Unicorn (1943) and Red Reckham’s Treasure (1944).

It received good reviews from the critics as well. Eighty-five percent of the thirty-nine critics gave an average rating of 7.1 out of 10 in the survey by rotten tomatoes.

The Adventures of Tintin provides some exceptional set pieces which are much better than any of the summer’s block buster movies. Spielberg did an epic job in bringing the action and overall story to life, making it a must watch for everyone.
