Shahrukh Khan delighted with Ra One’s success at Box Office

India’s superstar Shahrukh Khan was delighted over the success of his science fiction flick Ra One, which has earned a record breaking 170 crore at the Box Office (BO) during the first weekend after its worldwide release on Diwali on Wednesday, October 26,
2011.

Thrilled at the success of his expensive masterpiece, Shahrukh congratulated his business partners. However, he stated that numbers really do not matter to him, as the primary objective of the superstar is to entertain the fans.

Shahrukh was not much bothered about the negative reviews from some of the critics in India and said that his aim behind making a high-tech film was to tell the world that India has the ability to produce such movies.

The King Khan added, “LA (Los Angeles) Times has carried a fantastic movie review. We presented the film to a lot of people from Fox (Fox Studios, US) and we spoke to the foreign press on the technical aspect of RA One. It’s important that we promote this
ideology and explain to the world that we can do it.”

The critics across India claimed that the script of the movie was weak and they also did not like the comedy sequences.

However, the producers of the most expensive Bollywood movie in history claimed that they should have been given credit for giving a new direction to the film industry.

Although the movie did not get good ratings, it earned a lot of popularity and fans in the country turned out in huge numbers to see the superhero flick.

Ra One’s success is not just limited to India, as the movie has been followed by fans worldwide.

According to the president distribution in Eros International Media Ltd Pranab Kapadia, “The film is enjoying a superb run across all major regions including UK, North America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. Overseas, the film has broken SRK’s own
previous first weekend record established by My Name Is Khan and occupies the position of biggest Indian first weekend grosser overseas as well.”

Eros International had earlier claimed that all the expenses of the movie were recovered even before its release.
