With the increasing tension and rising tempers, people in Pakistan desperately need to find a method of laughing. For once, they need to forget everything and focus on the way which could make them laugh, enjoy and help them to relax under
the tricky circumstances.

However, it is noted that, the youngsters these days are more aware of the entertainment places than their country’s economic and financial instability. Many college and university going youngsters tend to spend most of their time, hanging out with friends,
which in one way is not a very positive attitude.

One thing that has grown popular amongst the majority youngsters is the cafe and shisha culture. Even the professionals like bankers, businessman tend to smoke shisha but on a temporary basis.

Shisha was introduced in Pakistan during the last decade and gradually has become a part of our society. Amidst all the current tensions, this shisha or ‘hookah’ has taken the shape of a need and it has now become more a necessity than a leisure time pass.

People or youngsters usually approach these shisha places in the evening when they get free from their offices and universities.  It has certainly become the favourite past time as the senior citizens feel much relaxed smoking shisha while sitting in the
coffee houses, sipping cappuccino and latte.

The youngsters, on the other hand, go for fun and to be honest, create a lot of havoc in such public places. They, at times, become irritating but this is the type of fun, youngsters are looking for, these days.

Here I would also like to share one of my personal experiences. In one of the cafe’s here in Lahore, I came across a senior couple sitting and enjoying shisha along with the desi music. All the youngsters were shockingly staring towards the couple and so
did I.

Upon asking them that what made them to come here, they told that it’s quite boring at home and this is the best possible way to pass their time amongst the youngsters. What was shocking above all was to learn about their regular visits and the daily use
of shisha.

This shows the importance and popularity of shisha, which has now become a necessary evil in our society.
