How Bahria University should line-up their football team

Bahrians are currently considered to be a big force in Islamabad when it comes down to playing football. In the last one year, Bahria has enrolled a lot of talented football players and now they are finally trying to become a great University team.

Bahria have not been very impressive in the past but recently they have shown the potential they have in their team. They have a brilliant defence line and midfield. The only thing they lack are the wingers. However, their new player, Iftikhar, has really
given them a boost on the right flank.

Bahria University’s football team always lines up in a 4-4-2 formation. However, a 4-2-3-1 formation would suit them best. Two holding midfielders will help them support the amazing defence and they can play counter attacking tactics.

Currently, Nahyan Shahzada is their first choice goalkeeper. The four defenders who support the second semester shot stopper are: Talha Nadeem, Musa Khan, Abbas Qasmi and Ihtisham.

Talha and Ihtisham have shown their brilliance as full backs while the centre backs have shown great chemistry in big competitions. Abbas Qasmi has taken Zohaib’s centre back position and he has been performing extremely well there.

Musa Khan has always been the first choice centre back and he does not only aid the team with his brilliant defence but also his special long balls which really help team in counter attacks.

In the current 4-4-2 formation, Faizan Sameer and Bilal Khan play in the centre of the pitch. Naeem has been recruited from the first semester and the Bruti FC midfielder is still trying to find a place in the Bahrian first team.

Bilal and Naeem are both holding midfielders and because of a two-man midfield, Faizan Sameer cannot show his attacking skills in his favourite attacking midfield position. Therefore, Bahria should play Faizan Sameer right behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1
formation.

Iftikhar is currently playing on the right wing while Ahmad Mehdi plays on the left wing. Iftikhar provides the team with not only his brilliant dribbling skills; in fact, he also tracks back in order to defend for the team. On the other hand, Mehdi provides
the team with his inch-perfect passing.

While playing in a 4-4-2 system, Mehdi plays as a striker alongside Ahmad Saeed Butt while Fouad Ashraf plays on the left wing. This formation has not really been working for Bahria since Fouad is not naturally a winger.

The second semester player is comfortable playing right behind the striker and the captain, Faizan Sameer, will definitely give him a lot of competition to take the first team position.

While playing in a 4-2-3-1 formation, Bahria can easily play their four favourite defenders alongside Nahyan Shahzada at the back. Bilal Khan and Naeem can play in the holding midfield position while Faizan Sameer can show his talents right behind the striker,
in the attacking midfield role.

Iftikhar Butt can play on the right wing while Ahmad Mehdi can drop to the left wing and keep switching places with the lone-striker Ahmad Saeed Butt who has recently been on a goal scoring spree.

With these players included in the first team, Bahria will still have Fouad Ashraf, Ammad Raja, Areeb Khan, Ali Shehroze and Ali Sawati on the bench. Fouad and Ali Sawati can play as second choice strikers while Ali Shehroze can play as a second choice winger.
Areeb can always play in the holding midfield position.

In case Zohaib makes a comeback in the Bahrian team, Musa can also play in the holding midfield position. He is simply an exquisite talent in the Bahrian team – one a team can rely on.

Nice formation. we can try it in upcoming fixtures!

  3. Faizan Sameer.

plus i dont think that musa can play in the mid-field because he is bit of slow. and old enough to get retire. we can give him a testimonial match in the shape of Bahria vs Atchison!
jk musa is the backbone of theteam without him, no team!
