U.S. claims threat from China and Russia for stealing economic and technology secrets

United States have claimed that China and Russia have been stealing their secrets of technology and trade through the cyberspace.

The American authorities have claimed that other countries have been intruding into their secret data kept over the networks.

National Counterintelligence Executive, Robert Bryant said, "The nations of China and Russia, through their intelligence services and through their corporations, are attacking our research and development. That’s a serious issue because if we fuel their
economies on our information, I don’t think that’s right."

The way of trespassing into the secrets is risk free, a lot of information can be accessed in this way and collected without any hindrance. It is also difficult for the experts to track the intruders.

The report titled ‘Foreign Spies Stealing US Economic Secrets in Cyberspace’ was forwarded to Congress.

The foreign intelligence services, corporations and individuals have increased their activities to steal the secret information from United States. The technology and trade secrets have cost millions of dollars to build it.

He report also added that many intelligence services, private companies, academic institutions and citizens have hit secret data owned by U.S.

Only two nations were clearly named in the report, China and Russia. The report also read as, "Chinese actors are the world’s most active and persistent perpetrators of economic espionage".

The report further stated about Russia as, "Russia’s intelligence services are conducting a range of activities to collect economic information and technology from US targets”.

The report actually conceded that it is being difficult for the U.S. intelligence to track down the real culprit.

The U.S. companies have reported that there have been recorded several intrusions into their systems which had a link back in China.

Bryant said, "To a certain degree that’s determined by the sophistication of the attack. If it’s a very sophisticated attack we basically assume that either a foreign intelligence service or a government sponsor is somewhere involved."

However the U.S. intelligence is still not able to track down the proper source that has been conducting these acts.

Some of the most accessed areas of information are information and communication technology, military technologies such as unmanned aerial vehicles and civilian technologies such as clean energy, health and pharmaceuticals.
