3 protestors injured in car strike at Occupy D. C. rally

A car struck three protestors at an Occupy D. C. Rally in Washington D. C. The incident took place during the early hours of Saturday, November 5. The police have confirmed that they will not press charges against the driver of the vehicle.

D. C. Police representative, Lt. Christopher Micciche spoke to the press after the incident. He immediately stated that the driver was not handed a citation for the incident as he was driving the car through a green light signal when he crashed into the
three protestors.

The victims were pointed out by witnesses, who claimed they ran or jumped towards the incoming vehicle. One of the pedestrians jumped on the car. The Police Department cited one of the injured protestors.

"The protesters were apparently trying to block the roadway," Micciche said. "It was essentially an accident where three individuals were injured but they were in violation by being in the roadway."

The incident is said to have taken place on Friday, November 4, at 10 p.m. Occupy D. C. had shut down many streets near the convention centre which explained the incident taking place tonight.

The Fire Department spokesman confirmed earlier that the three injured individuals were taken to the area hospital near the vicinity of the incident. He also confirmed that all three of the victims did not sustain life threatening injuries.

29 year-old resident of Riverdale Md, Jesse Folks, told the press on what had transpired. He had a conflicting view on how the incident played out.

"We were in the street, but this guy didn’t even give us a chance to get out of the way," Folks said.

Micciche on the other hand, stated that the witnesses provided a different take.

"They probably thought the driver would either stop or be able to stop, but it didn’t appear that was the case."

With tensions rising across the nation, the citizens and the law enforcement agencies have been facing off against each other on various occasions. Night after night, similar incidents take place. With an expanding distance between the two groups, it can
only be said with great certainty that there is chaos brewing on the streets. The question is: who can bring order to country?
