337 people die due to dengue in the provincial capital

 

 

According to research findings from the various hospitals and healthcare centres, the total death toll due to dengue pandemic has surged from 333 to 337 in the provincial capital, on Friday, November 4.

More importantly, over 30000 citizens have been victimized due to dengue virus in the Punjab province. Approximately 120 new dengue cases were tested positive during the last 24 hours, in Lahore. Around about 31979 people have been infected due to dengue
fever in Pakistan, out of which 20399 belonged to Punjab. Most importantly, 17006 dengue patients belonged to Lahore alone.

In the meantime, the officials of the Punjab Health Department disclosed an important fact that 308 people have lost their lives due to dengue fever in Punjab, out of which 268 belonged to Lahore alone.

According to reports from the various healthcare centres and hospitals, 20089 dengue patients have been restored to health and released from the various hospitals in the province. On the other hand, The Health Secretary Jehanzeb Khan said that the operations
for the control of dengue epidemic will be carried on during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays in the provincial capital.

Despite the preventive measures being taken by the officials and citizens for the control of dengue, the Punjab government has failed to control over the disease in the province thus far.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan team of dengue experts revealed that in the next three to four weeks there will be a drastic change in the dengue epidemic due to cold weather conditions especially in the month of December across the region. But, the citizens will
still need to continue the preventive measures for the control of dengue at both their homes and office areas.

In the meantime, the team of dengue experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) have launched their dengue campaign in Pakistan with a mission statement to assist the masses during the dengue outbreak in the country. In order to control dengue, the
WHO have organised one day workshop on the dengue pandemic and its preventive measures in Islamabad.

In addition, several new dengue cases have been reported in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan during the last 24 hours.
