Consultants and doctors will remain available in hospitals during Eid holidays, says Chief Minister

Lahore, November 5: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif has said that the consultants and doctors will remain available in the hospitals during the holidays of Eid-ul-Azha to treat the Dengue patients.

A comprehensive plan has been devised to in this regard to ensure the availability of doctors and consults in the hospitals. The elected representatives will also visit the hospitals during Eid Holidays to check the availability of doctors and will also
examine the other facilities available for the patients.

CM expressed that the similar steps have also been taken in all areas of the whole province to ensure the proper treatment of patients during Eid holidays. These steps are being taken mainly because of the Dengue patients and will definitely help in the
eradication of this fatal disease from the society.

Shahbaz Sharif revealed these steps while he was addressing to the meeting of emergency committee, which has been formed to review the implementations of the directions issued by the CM. While talking about the steps taken by the government for the eradication
of Dengue fever, CM said that nurses and doctors of different cities have been provided with the necessary training to deal with the Dengue patients.

Shahbaz also said that he himself will conduct meeting to examine the steps directed by the government. The most important aspect in this regard is that the facilities and availability of doctors are ensured and the Eid holidays will not have any impact
on the availability of doctors.

Members of Provincial and national assemblies, provincial secretaries, chief secretaries and experts were also there in the meeting of emergency committee. The Secretary Health gave details to the CM about the current situation of Dengue fever and its patients.
CM said that a comprehensive plan has been evolved to avoid this fatal disease in future.

CM revealed that 100 doctors and nurses has been sent to Thailand for getting effective training to deal with this fatal disease. He also said that similar teams of nurses, experts and doctors will also be sent to Sri Lanka to deal with Dengue fever effectively.
