Iran promises retaliation if assaulted

With 2012 fast approaching, it seems governments around the world are growing tense by the day. Revolts, assaults and human rights violations are common occurrences in today’s world. While some countries display their mantle of democracy and peace, they
incur injustice on other nations to maintain their perception of harmony.

Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran passed a stern warning against its opposition across the globe. Khamenei blatantly vow a tough response if Iran was attacked or oppressed in any way. He made his public address
at a military college in Tehran on Thursday, November 9.

Talking to the students, he assured the Iranians were not weak or fragile. He stressed his people would not remain motionless from threats passed out by the opposing nations.

"Iran is not a nation to sit still and just observe threats from fragile materialist powers which are being eaten by worms from inside," Khamenei said.

"Anyone who harbors any thought of invading the Islamic Republic of Iran – or even if the thought crosses their mind – should be prepared to receive strong blows and the steel fists of the military, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and the Basij
(volunteer) force, backed by the entire Iranian nation," he said.

"Iran will respond with full force to any aggression or even threats in a way that will demolish the aggressors from within", he added.

He pointed out United States of America and Israel as conspirators for creating problems in the region. The address made note of the recent remarks passed on by Israeli President Shimon Peres. Peres stated that air strikes against Iran were becoming more
and more likely.

There was also a report that had recently been supported by the US administration and the Israeli government. That document had been passed through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Chief Yukiya Amano as a valid indication of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Once released, the reported was flatly condemned by the Iranians, the Chinese, the Russians and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

The tensions between the Iranians and the US have been growing over the past few weeks. If a peaceful solution to the conflict is not sought soon, 2012 might very well be the last year for human kind.
