The Xbox 360 ‘Red Ring of Death’ is becoming one of the many increasing technical issues related to the console and according to a survey around 5,000,000 users are currently facing this problem.

The Red Ring of Death usually occurs when your Xbox 360 displays three red lit lights around the main power button, which according to experts, happens when there is a hardware issue or a glitch with the main power supply, but in many cases, due to overheating.

For many, the easy way to get out of this problem is by availing the warranty period which comes with the Xbox, or just simply take it to a technical retailer – but unfortunately, many rate this method as a time consuming procedure (which in some cases may
be stretched over a month’s period).

However, for those with their consoles out of warranty period, tech savvies have devised some DIY steps which may enable the users to overcome the persistent issue of the Red Ring of Death.

The best way to go about this whole problem is to first find out whether the Ring occurs due to a configuration error or a real hardware problem.

To do so, there are three simple steps to follow – first: Take out the hard drive of your console, and take it back in. Second: Plug out all the cables, including the one for the power supply, and plug them all back in again. Third: Restart your console.

The other way is to disconnect all cables, and let the system cool down for a while. Once done; reconnect the cables, remove the hard disk and try powering on the console; if the Ring goes away, reinsert the hard disk and proceed.

However, if you still see the ring of death error, then it is quite clear that the system is having a hardware error and if you wish to stick to the DIY method, download a readable repair guide as well repair instructional videos.
