Salman Khan and Depika Padukone attend first edition of D Y Patil Achievers’ Awards in Mumbai

Bolloywood actor Salman Khan was back from Sharjah, where he promoted the Celebrity Cricket League with leading actress Sonakshi Sinha and Kangana Ranaut. The Dabangg actor Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone were spotted at the award function.

This was started to recognise, reward and honour the people, who have the spirit to excel and showed outstanding talent ranging from education to business.

The function took place in Hotel Taj Lands End in Bandra, Bumbai on Sunday, November 13. The D Y Patil Annual Achiever’s Award was organised to smooth the progress of the achievers, who have shown exceptional aptitude and contributed in different fields
and brought glory to the nation. They encouraged the people to come forth and work for the betterment of the nation.

According to Salman Khan, it is perfect award to be presented to the people, who have worked really hard for the improvement of the homeland.  

Salman Khan told the media, "Very deserving people are awarded at this function, people who have worked really hard in their particular field and this is the right award to be presented.”

During the event, the children from the foundation gave a dance performance with Salman Khan, who encouraged the special Childs on stage.

After the facial nerve treatment in the US, Salman made his way to Turkey for his upcoming movie ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. He was away from India for total 75 days for the shoot for Kabir Khan’s production.

Some of those present included politician and author Shashi Tharoor and wife Sunanda Pushkar, Fardeen Khan, Subhash Ghai, Sonu Nigam, Aadesh Srivastav, Hariharan, Baba Siddiqui and Poonam Dhilon.

The gorgeous Deepki received the ‘’Entertainer of the Year’ award and she said, it is great feeling when the people appreciate your work.

She explained, "Well, I think, it’s a great feeling, it’s always good to receive an award and, I am an actress meant for entertaining and, its feels good when people appreciate me for my work.”

Bolloywood top director Yash Chopra received ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ and Hockey player received ‘Best Budding Talent’ award.
