The Hard Life of a Fresh Graduate

Going into college or university, people have a number of dreams and desires they hope and wish will be fulfilled after they complete their specific programs and graduate, but that, for most people, is not always how it turns out to be.

For the most part, things in life come out of the blue and surprise us when they do happen. Asking people who currently work somewhere, it is easy to see that a majority of them would answer that they could have never imagined to be where they currently
are today when asked if they had planned to work there before hand.

The world today has changed from what we considered it to be 10 years back. When we look at our aspirations back then, we would not be anything less than shocked to see what our plans and dreams were for 10 years ahead and what actually has happened since.

That is because the age is such that people has aspire to become what we have been accustomed to seeing, which is a person who earns a degree, gets a job at the world’s best company, spends a good amount of time there and eventually lives the life he/she
has always planned out for themselves.

Now the scenario is totally different.

Without a doubt, getting a job is much harder than it used to be and with that said, working towards different things and always having options is the best way to approach life in a realistic manner.

With a degree in hand, people walk out into a bright looking world which actually becomes extremely dim after failing to secure the position in your first interview. Losing hope and failing to realise that there are always other opportunities is something
which stunts professional growth.

It is the law of nature that whatever you work towards, you will eventually achieve it, if not, than try something else, but never stop trying.

The people we consider successful today have not always been the same way, especially when they started out. A majority of them have worked in different and even awkward positions before actually achieving the position they are in today.

Learning that reality and imagination are two different things is the only way to actually achieve your goals, but being optimistic is the key to really getting something done.

Optimism in this case should always be as such that it is a motivational factor and not something that binds you, because if in the end you fail, which is perfectly normal, it will not be as easy to grab other opportunities due to the lack of enthusiasm
to pursue something else.

Your first job is always one in which you learn that the world is harsh and surviving is very difficult. Instead of being the start and end of everything, it should be a stepping stone for something much better and personal professional development about
learning to cope with the world.

In conclusion, dreams should never be wiped out, but should rather be pursued till the end and feeling disheartened in different points of life is only human nature and is a part of how life eventually plays out.
