Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaaf Imran Khan – a ray of hope for the people of Pakistan

There is no doubt that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s chairman Imran Khan, who was also a famed cricketer of the past, had made several sacrifices and faced countless hardships in order to reach where he is currently standing.

In today’s youth’s opinion he is their ray of hope and that cannot be rejected too, as the grand procession of the 30th October was the proof of it in which more than half of the attendance was of youngsters.

Even a senior Western diplomat, who requested not to reveal his name agreed with the Pakistani youth that, “For a lot of people who don’t have hope in their political system, in a democratic system, he’s the one person they seem to have hope in.”

He added, “I think he’s an important phenomenon because he articulates the very real frustration of the country at a time when they need articulation.”

The journey till this point wasn’t easy for Imran, as it was not just full of barbwires, but the party also had taken very hard decisions, otherwise former President Pervez Musharaf would have made him the Prime Minister after keeping Mian Nawaz Sharif and
Benazir Bhutto out of the scene.

However, when Imran saw Mushraf deviating from his original agenda by gathering a group of traditional and corrupt politicians under one umbrella (Pakistan Muslim League – Q) and carrying out military operations in the northern regions of Pakistan, Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s
chairman took the stand and decided to part ways with the former leader.

Later in 2008, Imran boycott the general elections, as according to him those were not free and fair elections. Imran’s opponents called his claim untrue and said that he didn’t have enough firepower to win the elections that was the reason behind his boycott.

Imran’s opponents kept on underestimating him, while the visionary leader focused on raising the members of his party by launching a campaign throughout the country. It was until October 30, 2011 when the Tiger Khan had finally put a leash on his opponents
and his bashers’ mouth by addressing one of the huge processions in the history of Pakistan that comprised of 100,000 to 200,000 people.

That huge procession was a clear proof that the people of Pakistan are now fed up of old, tried and tested people and they are looking for a change.
