‘Desi Boyz’ gets adult rating as ‘The Dirty Picture’ gets passed uncensored
The much-anticipated upcoming film ‘Desi Boyz’ of debutant director, Rohit Dhawan, has been given with an adult certificate by the censor board while a U/A certificate was being expected from the film
‘Desi Boyz’ which will have Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh in lead roles is basically a Hindi action comedy film and with the cast it is fair enough to say that there
is certainly going to an element of humour. However, the film which was largely targeting the family audience and youth as well has been certified for adults.
Says a source, "The makers of Desi Boyz were expecting a U/A certificate since it’s a big-budget film and with Akshay and John in the cast they were largely targeting the family audience and youth as well.
Unfortunately for them, the film has been given an Adult certification."
The reason behind ‘Desi Boyz’ adult certificate could be Akshay Kumar and John Abraham’s role because both actors will be seen playing role of male strippers yet let’s see if the censor board reconsiders
their decision because it will definatley effect the film.
Meanwhile, another highly-anticipated film ‘The Dirty Picture’ which includes Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah and Tusshar Kapoor in the leading roles has been passed without any cuts even
when the makers of the film were clearly expecting an adult certificate.
Source stated, "While they were clearly expecting an adult certificate (with Vidya Balan’s liberal dose of skin-show), they were a bit apprehensive if the Censor board would ask them for any cuts".
This jester from censor board of Indian has resulted in a controversy especially when Emraan Hashmi not too long ago also admitted that ‘The Dirty Picture’, which is based on biopic life of late Southern
sex icon Silk Smitha, is the dirtiest film of his career thus far. Moreover, ‘The Dirty Picture’ has also been in controversy with Silk Smitha’s brother filing a case against wrong portrayal of her sister in the film.
All left to see is whether the censor board will give another thought to their decision or not.
