It was ladies’ night at the 2011 American Music Awards

Taylor Swift’s power was boosted after being named as the Artist of the Year 2011, for the second time in the American Music Awards. The twenty one year old notable American song writer and country, pop singer was not expecting to get this one, because Adele’s
‘21’ was the top selling album of the year and the American Music Awards are based on the popularity contest.

Besides being rewarded as the artist of the year, this well known artist and singer has also won the award of the Famous Country Album for her release ‘Speak Now’.

She was honored with the award for the country album because of the fan voting proceedings. While expressing the glee of achievement Taylor Swift said, "I ended up writing lots of these songs at 4 a.m. and on tour buses and wrote it by myself, so the fact
that you would honor it like this means a lot,"

Being crowned for her album the superstar was astonished because she succeeded in beating her fellow nominees Adele, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

Taylor Swift had a reason to be surprised when she was called for her third award, as the Favorite Country Female Artist.

Winning three trophies in one night placed the young artist in the lime light.

Adele on the other side did not appear in the ceremony due to her recent throat surgery, though she tied swift with three awards the Favorite Pop / Rock Female Artist, Adult Contemporary Artist and Pop / Rock Album.   

Besides Taylor Swift’s wins, Maroon 5 was declared as the Favorite Pop – Rock band, Lady Antebellum was named as the Favorite Country Band / Duo / Group, Blake Shelton as the Favorite Country Male Artist, Beyonce as the Favorite Soul / R&B Female Artist,
Rihana was rewarded as the Favorite Soul / R & B Album for her album ‘Loud’, while Hot Chelle Rae was named as the Artist of the Year.

Jenifer Lopez was after being honored with the award of Favorite Latin Music Artist said, "It’s been up and down and just exciting and overwhelming and so many things,"

The thrilling occasion took place in the Nokia Theater Los Angles on the 20^th of November 2011.
