The ongoing political activities in the country, has set the momentum for the comprehensive political debate in Pakistan, which led the natives to express their point of view openly.

The way people are participating in the political discussions is a good sign indeed, as youngsters also started showing their interest in the political affairs of the country.

However, it has been generally perceived that mostly people do not have a strong tolerance level, which compels them to follow rude and aggressive mannsers to support their point of view.

The above mentioned observation is not for any particular party, as supporters of every party have been following the same practice.

The productive and constructive political culture has always been a key to encourage people to participate in the politics; therefore, we need to understand the importance of good manners while supporting our favourite political
parties.

Here are some tips to set ourselves for a dynamic and positive political culture:

  • First of all, we need to remain unbiased.
  • We are supposed to understand the other’s point of view rather than imposing our point of view on others, as everyone expresses his point of view according to his vision/understaning and you cannot declare him wrong forcefully.
  • Discussion should be issue based, which will help the political parties to improve their agenda and vision.
  • Avoid targeting individuals, and if you do so, it means you just believe in proving that you are against that person or party whatsoever.
  • If you do not like someone following his bad deeds, you are still supposed to admire his good acts.
  • Do not use abusive lingo.
  • Do not get personal with your friends and colleagues.
  • Believe in ‘constructive criticism’ instead of ‘just criticism’.
  • Do not term someone as an illiterate folk while proving that you are the only one who knows each and everything correctly.
  • Develop some tolerance and broad-mindedness to cope up with the situation if something goes against yours point of view.
