And they are still waiting at home to open the doors for us…………….

“I didn’t get time…………..”, “I don’t have time…………”, “I’ll come late……”, “Don’t wait for me at dinner……..”. Do you ever realize that how often we use these phrases throughout the day? Is it that we really do
not have time anymore, to an extent that we even cannot manage one meal at home? And just see the brutality of the cycle which is never ending.

When we were younger and went to school, our mothers use to pack lunch for us and the very first question that we were asked as soon as got into the car at home time use to be that “did you eat your lunch?”
and just in case that lunch came back unfinished there use to be a scolding for sure.

Then came a phase when we had school in the morning and then tuitions in the evening which at times ended into the night and from there we developed the habit of eating from outside because there was hardly
any time that we got to spend at home. After getting admissions at different universities it grew worse as there was hardly a day when there was no assignment, project, quiz, paper or trip, it was always as if there was never enough time.

Towards the end of our bachelors most of us got hold of one job or the other which made taking out time all the more difficult and honestly now the only time that we get to spend at home is when we are sleeping.
I get to listen from my mother that what really is the difference between those living in a hostel and you even though you have a home to get back to? No matter how harsh and hurting those words are but they reek of the truth that we live each day. We have
our clothes laundered, meals cooked, bed made, anything and everything that we had during our childhood is still there, it is just that we no longer have the time that still never seems to be enough.

Have we become so busy that we cannot find time for staying at home and being there for our parents, not throughout the day but at least for a while? It is us around whom their world and existence revolves
and we have gone far away creating our own orbits.
