decision of staying away from the conference was a turning point in Pakistan’s policy on Afghanistan adding that it was backed by the entire cabinet and top leadership of the country, both military and civil.

The Federal Information Minister of Pakistan told the media reporters that the Prime Minister Gilani would soon summon a joint session of Parliament to take all the stake holders and nation into confidence on the recommendations of the National Security

She said that all important decisions in the aftermath of unprovoked Nato attack had been taken while taking national leadership on board.

Replying to a query, Ms Firdous said that no country could live in isolation and the process of dialogue, with Nato and US, should continue. She, however, did opine that national sovereignty and stability were above everything.

She said that Pakistan has sacrificed more than 36,000 lives in the ongoing war against terror and nobody can question Pakistan’s commitment to fight war against terror.
