Omi Vaidya: I am working on my debut project

The Indian American actor Omi Vaidya has said that he is busy working on a script, which is his first step towards direction.

He added that he is working on his debut project (film), which is based on supernatural powers. Omi also mentioned that it is going to be a Hindi language film, but not a typical Bollywood ‘masala’ film.

The 29-year-old, who was also seen in film ‘Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji’ is busy and working on his debut project. However, he stated that his debut project will be a “zara hatke” Hindi film about supernatural powers.

He refused to reveal any other detail about his project, as he said that it is to early to disclose anything about it.

Talking to reporters, Omi commented, “It was challenging to make my own space in the film. I had to make that extra effort to make my presence felt. Though we have our individual slots, it was a big team of seven players. The film belongs to the action genre
and honestly I found it different and a bit difficult as well.”

He went on to mention, “People think it’s been a cakewalk for me. No, after ‘3 Idiots’, I had to wait for a long time. I was nearly sitting at home with no work for about eight months. ‘Players’ and ‘Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji’ came at the same time and I thought
I should just grab both of them. When I was offered the role, they were not so meaty, but later as the shooting started, they liked my work and extended my time slot in the film." 

The Indian American actor also stated that he knows he does not belong to the Bollywood league, he is different, his acting skills, his range, his training in acting and the method is a little ‘hatke’.

Omi talked to the media and mentioned that he feels lucky himself, as in just three years he has earned an individual place for himself in the industry.

Omi is in search of growth. Let’s see whether he grows as an actor or not.
