Pseudo propaganda against Imran Khan

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 7:28:17 by

In the backdrop of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief, Imran Khan’s overwhelmingly successful public meeting at Iqbal Park Lahore, a number of pseudo intellectuals, biased political analysts and even some silly youngsters have unleashed a murderous campaign
of negative propaganda against him and his party. The newspaper columns, TV talk shows, drawing room gatherings and social media all are vehemently engaged in outpouring venom to prove that Khan is not a good guy to lead the political set up of Pakistan.

Some critics claims that the cricketer turned politician is an agent of America, some link him with Pakistan army, some dub him as a puppet of the establishment, some throw mud on his character, some find fault in his welfare works including Shaukat Khanum
Hospital and NUML University, some are questioning his cricket career and some are not happy with the persons who are joining the PTI. Interesting to note is the fact that all these claims are baseless and illogical. How shitty the stuff is!

It will be unfair to deny a due credit to Khan for making feasible some of the impossibilities. No one could even dream of a world class cancer hospital in Pakistan, Khan did it practically. The Men in Green were considered to be underdogs in international
cricket but Khan earned immense glory for them by winning the ICC World Cup 1992. A large number of aspirant students were deprived of quality education of international languages for want of financial resources, Khan fulfilled their dreams by establishing
NUML. The commendable thing is that all these projects are working successfully.

If you talk about Khan’s backdoor ties with the establishment, it is to inform you that, as per the current circumstances, no government can be formed without support of the Army and one thing is clear that Army is not against the nation’s interest. Moreover,
Khan has clearly declared that if he sits in Prime Minister House, Army will work with his consent.

As far as America is concerned, Khan has been very clear on the point that if the NATO forces stops\ drone attacks on the green soil and give up dictating Pakistan, he has no objection in making even diplomatic and trade ties with USA. This point is full
of sense.

Considering Khan’s private life, it is unethical to disclose bedroom secrets and family problems of a person publically. If he has divorced his wife and meets her even now, there is no religious and moral fault in it. If he had been enjoying some pre-marital
and extra-marital relations with women during his cricket career, it is a matter of the past. Moreover, every cricketer commits such type of mistakes in his youth. At least, the guy is having an immaculate life now.

In the end, I would like to ask just one question from the critics that what is the second option after Khan for changing this oppressive system? You have examined and tested all the traditional political parties for a number of times in the 65-year history
of the country. To vote for the conventional politics today will be tantamount to live in fools’ paradise.

Be aware of the ground realities and rationalise the situations before you go to lampoon Khan. If anyone has objection on any of my points, kindly point it out to me.
