Gaming tablets on the top-shelf this Christmas holiday season

This holiday season, when super stores will be waterlogged with customers to avail the best discount offers, one thing will remain on the top of the list of many patrons, a thin and smart tablet.

The new tablet fashion is in its sophomore year, after the launch of original iPad in 2010, and there is still room for early adopters to this attractive device. However, in these two years many technology companies have launched their slates in addition
to Apple’s flagship tablet.

Following are the best options available in the market in terms of specifications and ease-of-use.

1.       Apple iPad 2 (16 GB)

Although there are a number of alternatives available in the market, the iPad still remains the king of all. It is extremely thin and boasts two cameras, one in the rear and one in the front.

Its FaceTime application for video chat is a tremendous feature. The dual-core A4 chip and dense screen resolution, not a Retina Display as in iPhone 4/4S, fairly justifies the 10-inch screen and is exceptionally good for gaming.

iPad is also fairly compatible for upgrade to iOS 5, with iCould and Siri support.

However, some things are still amiss in this flamboyant machine; a micro-SD card for additional storage, HDMI and USB (2.0 or 3.0) ports and Adobe Flash support.

2.       Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime (32 GB)

The quad-core processor in this slim machine is the biggest selling point. Moreover, there is not one processor chip but two. The auxiliary single-core processor to run simple applications as music and videos conserves the battery smartly. The long battery
life is well beyond iPad 2’s benchmarked 9 hours.

In addition, this tablet is one of the best options, besides iPad, for gaming. Its faster GPU takes it to the top 3 slot in the wish list of gaming enthusiasts.

3.       Sony Tablet S

Sony Corporations’ flagship tablet is bigger on price but electronics nestled inside make the money spent worth it.

A dual-core Tegra 2 chip clocked at 1 GHz and 1 GB of RAM are some of the best features available in the market.

Also, it comes with 32 GB built-in storage. The 9.4-inch HD screen has AMOLED display and dense resolution, best for gaming.

The aforementioned tablets might be a little high on price scale but their specifications are best for reading, web browsing, gaming and social network, on the go.
