Indian actress Priyanka Chopra turns singer

The Piggy Chops, Priyanka Chopra, who is an Indian actress and a former Miss World, has now turned a singer. She has even signed a worldwide recording agreement with the Universal Music Group and Desi
Hits.

The award winning Bollywood actress, Priyanka, is a trained western Classical singer and as a result to which her album will be sung in English. She is currently writing and recording her debut pop album
which will be released in North America and other International markets.

Priyanka told the media she always wanted to be a singer and it is like a dream-come-true for her. The actress, who has been seen playing lead roles in many Indian hit movies like ‘Andaaz’, ‘Aitraaz’,
‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’, ‘Krrish’ and ‘Don – The Chase Begins Again’, stated she feels very proud of herself for working with some of the biggest names in the music industry.

"It has been a long cherished dream which is finally coming true,” said Priyanka Chopra about her music debut. "Music has always been
a passion and now I have been given the opportunity to share it with the world. I am privileged to be a part of the Universal Music – Desi Hits! family and to be working with some of the most illustrious names in the music industry,” added Priyanka.

Priyanka insisted she wants the world to know about the Indian talent. She further added she is not worried about the critics, as she wants people to judge her voice.

“I don’t know how good a singer I am, that I’ll leave to people to judge, but there are many others who’re really talented. I want the world to sit up and take notice of India and Indian artistes,” she
asserts.

The 29-year-old actress will also be seen playing yet another lead role with Shahrukh Khan in their much anticipated upcoming movie ‘Don 2 – The King is Back’, which is all set to release in the cinemas
worldwide on December 23, 2011.

Priyanka Chopra is certainly liked by a lot of people in India but still let’s see if her fans also like her as singer.
