Shahrukh Khan takes his stand against ban on smoking scenes in films

Bollywood superstar, Shahrukh Khan, has once again taken a stand against the ban on smoking scenes in the Indian movies, as he believes disrupting the movie to display an anti-tobacco massage is a bit
too controlling.

The Indian film actor, producer and television host, who is often referred to as King Khan, suggested the media that instead of disrupting the movie the government should have a public service massage.

“I think to erase, ban or inserting a ticker tape on the screen would be a little unartistic and too controlling. But if it is a legal sale of something, I think just the warning is sufficient. We should
have a public service message as we do for event stunts, that don’t try this stunt at home. Similarly you should not smoke or consume alcohol,” said Khan. (ANI)

The 46-year-old SRK is a heavy smoker himself. Last time Khan remained under a lot of discussion on the World’s Anti-Tobacco day because millions of his fans alongside other people wanted him to quit smoking.

Khan admitted he didn’t even know about the anti-tobacco day till he logged on to his tweeter account in the evening and saw a lot of massages from his fans, who had requested him to quit smoking.

Khan later on revealed he was not happy to see people interfering in his personal life but the ones who were interfering on the same note also had a valid reason for their interference since they stated
Khan is a public figure and even his personal life can affect their life.

Khan is one of the leading Indian actors and his fan following is believed to number the billions. In 2008 he was named as one of the 50 most powerful people in the world. He is a role model and an inspiration
to many young actors and children in India. Therefore, it is fair to say that if Khan smokes he will be unintentionally promoting smoking. So let’s see if Khan quits smoking for the welfare of his fans.
