Facebook brings more changes to its website – Part 1

Facebook has found a permanent residence in news of late. The latest of them is the all new outlook of their website. The Social Network is on the verge of bringing numerous changes into the fold. The website will be totally different, not to say easy at
the time, in looks and working.
Following a cut-throat competition from Google’s namesake social website, Google +, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and co-founder of the network, has been forced to bring drastic changes to various features of the site.
Following are some of the features that will have changes in the coming days:
1. Contact Management
Google +has made the contact management so easy that the Facebook, one of the pioneers of such business, have been the pushed hard to think out-of-the-box… again. Google’s contacts can be sorted in groups of family, friends, colleagues and other associations.
Facebook is towing the same line and contact management will be made more easy and segregated in coming days.
2. Profiles are history
The albums and profiles on Facebook are history now, making room for a new feature called the Timeline, that will sort the pictures of the user in a ‘timeline’ sorted according to the time they were uploaded.
3. Better Security
Due to stringent rules imposed by Federal Trade Commission regarding the privacy of the users, the network has been forced to revamp its security outlines and make sure the users’ privacy remains intact. There are more security adjustments and settings coming
to the website soon, most probably within the next few days.
4. Permissions to Third Party Apps
In the past, Facebook allowed 3rd party apps to comb through the private data of the users, unintentionally of course. However, the FTC frown has been a wakeup call and the security team at Facebook has revised the permissions and rights allowed
to these games and other applications. The user will have the settings buried in the privacy settings options.
