Tulisa Contostavlos tips ‘Little Mix’ to be as big as ‘Spice Girls’

 X-Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos has tipped girl band Little Mix to be as big as former British group Spice Girls. She admitted that the girls have immense potential and can go a long way in the music industry.

Little Mix won the X-Factor earlier this month after defeating Marcus Collins in the final at the Wembley Arena. They became the first band in the history of the X-Factor to win the competition and are set to release their first
album early next year.

Tulisa claimed that big things are expected from the group and admitted that it is one of the biggest girl bands the country has seen in recent times. She added that the band’s timing of coming in to the industry is very appropriate
as there has not been much in the past few years. The girls have an open market as previously Spice Girls ruled the charts and since they have disbanded, apart from Girls Aloud there has not been much.

“The girls are going to be the biggest girl band we’ve had for years. They’re coming into the ­industry just at the right time when there’s a big gap in the market for them. People are ­saying they could be as big as the Spice
Girls and I really think they could,” she was quoted as saying in an interview.

The N-Dubz member also expressed her delight on the group’s number one single ‘Cannonball’ and predicted big things for them in the future. However, she is waiting for Little Mix to record their own album and win the hearts of
their fans with some original work.  

“If I’m being honest the debut single ‘­Cannonball’ is more of a ­formality for them. The real fun will begin when they get in the studio and find their identity. That’s when they’re going to start the ball rolling,” she concluded.

Tulisa added that there is great pressure on the young girls to prove their worth as people have huge expectations from them. But she is sure that all of them will work hard to get to the next level and be amongst the best.
