Nawaz Sharif’s competition is with a Test cricketer – Imran Khan

Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI), has warned the leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N), Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif that his competition is with a Test cricketer and being a club cricketer, Nawaz does not possess the ability to match
the skills of Imran Khan.

Nawaz had earlier expressed in front of reporters in a humorous way that it is about time that he plays a short match of 10 overs with Imran Khan. The former prime minister of Pakistan further claimed that during his playing days, he used to bat very well
against Imran.

Nawaz has played a lot of club cricket in Lahore and he has also played a first-class match for Pakistan Railways during 1970s. Whereas, Imran is considered as one of the greats of the game and without doubt the best captain Pakistan has ever witnessed.

Imran entered the world of politics in 1990s but since last five years he has gained immense popularity in the country and chances are high that he may come into power through next general elections. Considering the pathetic performance of Pakistan Peoples
Party, Imran’s most fierce competitor is going to be Nawaz and his party but Imran holds the opinion that PML (N) is no match for him.

Chairman PTI said, “Nawaz should be mindful of the fact that he is challenging Imran Khan, a Test cricketer, while Nawaz himself is a club player of General Jilani who won’t come to his rescue now.”

While talking about some serious issues of the country, Imran expressed that he does not believe in the hegemony of the men and no society can prosper without the help of women.

“We will protect the rights of women, as the PTI is the party of women also”, he maintains.

On the topic of his growing popularity in the country, Imran feels that it is more of the incompetency of the other political forces of the country that PTI is growing as a political force.

“We are gaining popularity because of inept governments of the PML-N, PML-Q and PPP”, he added.
