The list is populated by other technology companies like Facebook (the online social networking website), Qualcomm (mobile processors manufacturers), Motorola (mobile phones manufacturers), Yahoo (Japanese website), Intel (computer hardware manufacturers)
and HP (computer manufacturers).

The latter mentioned list offers an insight to the business and in-demand talent in the country. Mostly, engineers are hired for technical positions in a company and liberal arts majors rein the non-technical departments. However, abovementioned shows that
engineers are being considered for research & development and marketing in addition to production and planning.

In 0 to 100 scale of proficiency and effectiveness, sought by Identifieds, engineers outscored liberal arts by miles. The average score of students of technical sciences with five years of experience was a whopping 68. On the other hand, students of liberal
sciences, with the same experience, scored an average of 51. The score of engineers in non-technical departments was sandwiched between the two at 60.

The aforesaid scoring scale is sought with work experience, education level and social network of the units in the sample size.

However, the search for technical talent in the US is aggravated by availability of less demanding incumbents. Most of the successful engineers in the country are graduates of prestigious universities mostly falling in the Ivey League. Therefore, their demands
have skyrocketed in past couple of months. The only viable solution for tech companies to hire talent at reasonable terms is too look outside the US.

Graduates from universities belonging to Asian territory like Korea, Japan or India are less demanding and have a more technical approach. However, after the 9/11 incident, immigration rules have become volatile. Before 2001, the total number of immigrants
with a technical background that came to the US was 161,000. The figure drastically dropped to 110,000 by 2009.

However, still these corporate sector giants are shaking things up to get a reasonable solution to immigration in order to import economical talent to the country.
