BCCC warns ‘Colors’ to stop promoting Sunny Leone’s pornographic profession through Bigg Boss

An Indian self-regulatory body, Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC), has warned the entertainment channel ‘Colors’ that any further cross-promotion of Leone’s pornographic profession must be
stopped by today.

BCCC took an action after receiving numerous complaints in this regard. There were almost 19 complaints pertaining to Leone’s presence on Bigg Boss, which is one of the most possessed Indian TV shows.

Sunny Leone is an Indo-Canadian porn star. Therefore, a lot out there believe that her appearance on Bigg Boss can spoil their children. After Leone’s appearance in the Bigg Boss house – season 5, many
Indian parents have also been noticed complaining that their children are getting addicted to porn. Thus, BCCC has directed ‘Colors’ to take an action.

"The Council, while ruling on her presence on the show, said anyone was free to appear on any show but no one had the right to promote their business through it especially so when the business happens
to be illegal," reported the Tribune.

Sunny Leone is a world-class porn star and her website, Twitter account and blog is followed by many.

The group claimed that they have seen a cross-promotion occurring on these places as a result to which Leone should not be allowed to appear on the show anymore.

BCCC member Wajahat Habibullah told the Tribune, “We all agreed that Sunny Leone has been using Bigg Boss on Colors to promote pornography which is classified as criminal activity in India. It may not
be criminal in the U.S. where she comes from but here, it happens to be so. Therefore, she can’t be allowed to use our television to promote her business. Colors has agreed to comply and report back on steps taken.”

There is no doubt that Leone has become one of the popular celebrities in India perhaps that is why a few days back she won the most googled celebrity award. Moreover, she has been signed by Mahesh Bhatt
for his upcoming film ‘Jism 2’, which means it is only a matter of time before she will be seen on the big screens in India.

Nevertheless, let’s see if ‘Colors’ really takes an action against Leone.
