‘Ra. One’ and ‘Bodyguard’ among the worst films of the year – Golden Kela Awards
This might be shocking news for a lot out there but Shahrukh Khan’s dream project ‘Ra. One’ and Salman Khan’s blockbuster ‘Bodyguard’ have been nominated among the worst films of the year in the upcoming
Golden Kela Awards.
Salman Khan’s ‘Bodyguard’, which was released on August 31, 2011 across 2,250 screens in 70 Indian cities and with 482 prints across the overseas territory, has grossed $43.51 million as of yet, thus it
is the highest-grossing Bollywood film of this year but perhaps the film has been nominated among the worst because of its story, as it is not much innovative.
Meanwhile, Shahrukh Khan’s science fiction superhero film ‘Ra. One’, which was released in the cinemas on June 3, 2011, is also one of the six nominated films of this year. This film was King Khan’s dream
project and it was expected as if it will be a game changer for the Hindi cinema. Nevertheless, despite having a lot of hype the film couldn’t live up to the expectations.
The film did have some great action sequences and visual effects in it but still it was criticised by many regarding its script and direction.
Similarly like Salman Khan’s ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Ra. One’ also broke many box-office records, including highest Diwali day collections, highest single-day collections, highest three-day collections and biggest
overseas collection of 2011.
However, the bad dance sequences and a weak story line due to which the movie didn’t look a super-hero film for most parts could be the reasons why it has been nominated for the Golden Kela Awards.
Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan, who is often referred to as the King of Bollywood, have always remained at a distance from each other due to their clashes. Therefore, the Golden Kela Award would be something
of a big worry for them.
The other movies in the worst film list include Ready, Mausam, Singham and F.A.L.T.U.
Let’s see which film will be awarded with the Golden Kela this year.
