Best of 2011

1. Motorola Droid Razr

This phone came in the middle of the year but its good looks and a very speedy processor was a romantic marriage. Motorola has been blowing hot air in the smartphone industry for the last three or four years but the Droid Bionic followed by Razr were a couple
of phones that became a sight for the sore eyes at Motorola.

The big 4.8-inch screen coupled with a slim chassis, the phone taken the breath away. Its solid touch at the front and the back makes it the perfect successor to the Razr family line.

The camera of this phone is not a stroke of a genius, conceded that, but the overall combination of software and hardware is one of the best in the market. Verizon’s 3G network works splendidly on the phone. The browser and menus are have little stutter
given quality of Android Gingerbread.

Moreover, the phone is ready to embrace the newer version of Android, 4 or more commonly known as the Ice Cream Sandwich.

2. Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus

The US carrier has pulled off a number of phones this year that have made a huge impact on the company’s balance sheet. Nexus is one on a hot streak in the US. This flamboyant piece of craftsmanship has made huge sales despite the fact it was released late
in the year.

The dual-core processor works hand-in-hand with the new Ice Cream Sandwich. The Nexus is the only phone in the market to incorporate Google’s latest version of mobile operating system.

The camera works wonders and the design is simple and slick. The size is handy and operating system is just the topping needed to reign over the market. Given the ICS has bit of a learning curve due to a host of new gestures and outlooks to some old features;
it is the first version of Android that looks decent.

Verizon’s LTE network works fine on the smartphone. It is a huge upgrade to other Galaxy versions like the SII and SII Skyrocket.
