Political point-scoring over creation of new provinces

A gloomy reflection on the state of discipline of our lawmakers was visible for everyone in the National Assembly over the creation of new provinces of Hazara and South Punjab.

The leaders, our representatives, are supposed to be our role models. They forget that parliament itself is meant to talk over and resolve differences peacefully in spite of engaging in acts that odor of mob in the roads.

Although it is late, the incumbent is advocating voice in favor of Seraiki province. It is to blame for the chaos in the house, as Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on the other day vociferously spoke in favor of the new federating units.

He asked the house when Seraiki province would be formed if it could not come into being in his tenure.

The uproar commenced when MQM Parliamentary Leader in the National Assembly, Farooq Sattar, began debate in the house. Firstly, the PML-N raised voice against the Karachi-based leaders asking him not to violate the rules of the house and confined himself
on the point of order.

After this prologue, the ANP, the ally party of the government, staged a walkout, terming the move unconstitutional.

One cannot do anything except showing anger and sorrow over the situation. The country is observing a battle against the shortage of gas and electricity between protestors and law enforcement agencies.

The scenery is full of conspiracies, intrigues, and scandal on the political front. The defiance of the apex court orders will further deteriorate the situation.

Foremost, the credibility of the government has been sharply fallen due to rearing corruption in all state-owned institutions. Apparently, the purpose of the government to raise the issue of new provinces is only meant to open a new Pandora’s Box.

Without any doubt, new federating units are not created with a magic wand. A long grueling process is required on the administrative and constitutional fronts.

The situation is quite non-understandable as the government has been failed to run the state institutions, but it is speaking about creating new units. It seems that the PPP is only making political mileage out of the matter.

At the earliest, the incumbent is required to overcome the energy crises, refraining from creating more difficulties for the masses.
