CEC meeting on 15th to allay grievances of PTI’s original

In a bid to address the grievances of senior party leaders and workers, PTI’s Chairman Imran Khan has summoned a meeting of party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) on January 15.

The meeting has been convened after some old aides of Khan have raised their concerns of being ignored by the chief after the joining of new heavyweights during last two months.

The PTI’s chief will try to remove the grievances of his old friend in the meeting in presence of new arrival including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen and Javed Hashmi.       

A close aide of Khan and senior party leader on the condition of anonymity told dateline that old aides of Khan are unhappy over his changing attitude after the entrance of new heavyweights.

He feels that difference emerged in the party after political figures from the other parties joined PTI observing its raising popularity in the public. 

The PTI associate informed that the workers were unhappy over the entrance of the people who were supporter of former military dictator Pervez Musharraf when PML-Q was in the government.

He added though the party workers were jubilant over the arrival of Javed Hashmi and Shah Mehmood Qureshi, however; they were disappointed about nominating Qureshi as vice-chairman and Jahangir Tareen as party’s policy head.  

It is pertinent to mention here that party president of Blochistan Chapter, Qazi Shahid has resigned saying he was being ignored by the party chief. Khan also nominated Shafqat Mehmood as party’s secretary information after removing Umer Cheema who was serving
for long time.   

Meanwhile a source in the party said after the protest of some senior leaders and members of PTI, the entrance of the people from PML-Q has been blocked for the time being.

He informed membership policy of the party will be reviewed in the CEC’s meeting and it may be revised because of severe complaints of PTI’s early day’s members.  

The party was likely to bar further indulgence of Musharraf’s era ministers in a move to keep the old worker please and united with the party in future, the source maintained.  

He added old workers had strongly protested Khan during Karachi rally over ignoring and changing his attitude towards them. The party’s head had promised them to address their grievances.
