Katrina Kaif’s Chikni Chameli choreographer says he is worried with the song’s popularity

Katrina Kaif’s new item song, Chikni Chameli, which will be featured in Karan Johar’s eagerly awaited film ‘Agneepath’, is certainly doing a record-breaking business at the box office. The song has already crossed over 5 million views on You Tube. However, growing popularity of Chikni Chameli has now become a worry for the choreographer Ganesh Acharya, who directed Katrina Kaif’s dance moves. Acharya believes he has set a very high benchmark for himself and people will now expect a lot from him.

Acharya, who is known best for his work in the films like ‘Rang De Basanti (2006)’, ‘Omkara (2004)’, ‘Khakee (2004)’ and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004)’, told the media this was his first choreography for Dharma Productions and therefore he wanted to give his best shot but on the same note he insisted the benchmark which has been set now worries him.

Acharya stated, “I put myself to test — this was my first choreography for Dharma Productions and I was keen on proving myself. “

“The popularity of the number worries me too — I have set a very high benchmark for myself.”

“Karan’s (Johar) films usually have a lot of music in them but a number like this is a first for them too and I didn’t want to give him a chance to complain,” he quips.

Acharya in the meantime praised Katrina Kaif for her outclass performance in the song. He stressed it was never easy for Katrina to perform on this style of a dance but her hard work has made the song successful.

“Katrina performed brilliantly and I knew both the numbers would be compared but undoubtedly, she has outdone herself in Chikni,” he added. “I wouldn’t be wrong in saying that post this song, Katrina’s image has undergone quite a change.”

‘Agneepath’, which is a remake of 1990 Hindi film of the same name, will be released in the cinemas worldwide on January 26, 2012 and all left to see is whether if the much-anticipated film is going to live up to the expectations or not.
