Liam Neeson described ‘The Grey’ as one of his toughest shoots

Irish actor Liam Neeson has revealed that the shoot for his new film ‘The Grey’ was one of the toughest in his career. He admitted that the freezing cold temperatures made it very tough for the whole team to carry on with their
work, however, he insisted that it was an unbelievable experience.

‘The Taken’ actor stated that the team carried on with the shoot in a small village in Northern Canada by the name of Smithers. He claimed that the temperature in the village was minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit and it felt unreal as
he had not experienced such cold weather in his life.

“We were up in a place called Smithers, some little village, but it’s about 200 miles north-east of Vancouver. The first week it was minus 40 degrees [Fahrenheit]. There’s no CGI, all that weather stuff, it’s all the real deal,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.

Neeson claimed that the snow in the village was waist deep and the team faced a lot of difficulty in organising the shoot. However, he admitted that it was a lifetime experience working for the film and was one of the toughest
shoots of his life.

The actor recalled another of his filming in Tunisia which was for a Star Wars film. He insisted that the temperature was very hot in there and it was probably one of the hottest places on earth.

"The snow would be [waist] deep and you’d have to walk from here to the camera and it became like a two-hour work-out. It really did. It was unbelievable. It was one of the toughest [shoots] I’ve ever done. The other one was
Star Wars. We were on location in Tunisia,” he concluded.

Liam Neeson’s new film The Grey is about a group of men that survive a plane crash in Alaska. The story revolves around the men who have to survive against a pack of wolves, it is set to release later this month.
