Emraan Hashmi decides not to participate in any of Bollywood’s award function

Bollywood superstar, Emraan Hashmi, has decided not to participate in any Bollywood award function since the actor says he only works for money and if someone is not paying him anything, he will not perform.

“For me, money is more tangible than accolades,” says the actor. “So, if someone is giving me money to perform, I will happily do it. It’s as clear that.”

Emraan further added that he also doesn’t believe in the award ceremonies. He said there are a lot of actors and actresses who get awards even when they do not deserve.

He says, “Firstly, I strongly disagree with the nomination process at most award ceremonies. And I have felt that since the start of my career. Some nominations are highly undeserving.”

The 32-year-old Emraan Hashmi is known best for his performances in ‘Murder’, ‘Gangster’, ‘Awarapan’, ‘Jannat’, ‘Raaz – The Mystery Continues’, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, ‘Murder 2’ and ‘The Dirty Picture’. He is famously known for his bold performances as a result to which he has been labelled as the ‘Serial Kisser’ in the Bollywood industry and the actor has no complaints with it.

“It’s not that they should include me. I would rather be declared the people’s champion than the darling of award ceremonies.

But I have a strong difference of opinion on the merit and credibility of the nomination process. And a lot of people agree with me,” says the actor.

In 2011, Hashmi’s both films, ‘Murder 2’ and ‘The Dirty Picture’, did a great job for the industry and they have him a bankable star in Bollywood. Moreover, with the help of these movies he has created many more fans yet he doesn’t like tags like star or superstar, as he thinks these tags easily go away with one bad performance.

Emraan, who started his career as an assistant director to uncles Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt and Vikram Bhatt, stressed he is still as down to earth as he was five years back.

Emraan Hashmi is currently working for the films like ‘Jannat 2’, ‘Shanghai’ and ‘Raaz 3’.
