Can Kareena Kapoor contribute to the success of ‘Heroine’?
Kareena Kapoor is currently rated as the most profitable celebrities in the Bollywood industry. ETC declared Kareena as the most profitable actress at the Bollywood Business Awards 2011, as with her contributions box office collected an amount over Rs 200 crore in 2011 and the top-actress will now be seen playing a lead role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film ‘Heroine’.
In ‘Heroine’ Kareena plays role of a successful film actress Mahi Khanna who after getting all the glory, falls down. Though alongside Kareena, stars like Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda and Shahana Goswami will also play lead role, it is Kareena Kapoor who is the protagonist in the movie.
Bollywood star, Arjun Rampal, revealed a bit about Kareena’s role in the movie and the actor believes the film will be liked by the audience.
“Bebo is the protagonist of the film and she has a very good part in it. But it is also a beautiful love story about what happens to two characters from the same line of work and how much misunderstanding is created by people who are supposed to make that communication easier,” the 39-year-old actor said at an event here.
If we see Bebo’s performance in the past two years, she has done three movies that have done a business of Rs. 100 crore at the box office, which is great. She played a lead role opposite to Salman Khan in ‘Bodyguard’ and the movie crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark last year. Bodyguard even became the highest-grossing movie of the year 2011. Kareena then co-starred with Shahrukh Khan in ‘RA.One’ and once again her film did an exceptional business – crossing yet another Rs. 100 crore mark.
Previously Kareena was seen playing a lead role in ‘Three Idiots’ and ‘Golmaal 3’ and these movies took the box office by storm as well. Aamir Khan’s ‘Three Idiots’ racked in Rs. 170 crore whereas ‘Golmaal 3’ did a business of 108 crore.
Therefore, keeping these facts in front it is fair to say that ‘Heroine’, which will be released in the cinemas in September this year, will do well at the box office.
