Singer Nicola Roberts has hinted that her band Girls Aloud could well be working on their new album soon. She stated that the work would start on the new album once all the members are free from their assignments
and is hoping for an early 2013 release.
All members of the UK girl band have been busy with their solo careers. Nicola Roberts had a successful maiden solo album, Cinderella’s Eyes, and riding the success in United States. Arguably the band’s most famous member, Cheryl
Cole is also finalising her second album in United States and is collaborating with the likes of Rihanna, Eminem and Nicki Minaj.
Roberts claimed that the solo careers of all the members will surely not affect the release of their new album and also played down rumours that Girls Aloud will not work again.
“Probably not because Girls Aloud has got its own sound. That’s the sound of the band and you wouldn’t want to fight with that. It’s about what’s best for the group as whole and not yourself as an individual because you’re a team,”
she was quoted as saying in an interview.
The singer further added that she has currently no plans of working a new solo album in the near future but it could happen in a couple of years. She insisted that the second project would only happen if she has the right songs
and admitted that it would definitely take time.
“Maybe, I’m not sure. There’s lots of stuff coming up and I think there always has to be a right time. I’m definitely always working on new music and if a second album came about then that would be a great thing to happen. If the
opportunity ever arose then I’d like to,” she concluded.
Girls Aloud have so far released five albums with the most recent being ‘Out of Control’ in 2008.
