Pervez Musharraf, the former president who has ruled this country almost nine years, has said he will second the army in case of coupe. However, he was reasonably sure it will not happen in the present scenario.

Chief of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), General Pervez Musharraf, is presently a solo supporter of an unconstitutional move who openly rendered his support with military in case of coup.

He said, “I don’t think the army intends to take over. The environment is not at all conducive for the army to do so. I think the army understands that”. About his choice between military and civilian government, he categorically stated he will back the former that he served as a head for many years.

He uttered, “I’ve been an army man and I can never imagine being against the army. I am with the army; I will stand by the army”.

He not only rendered his support with the military but also desired for an alliance with Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Musharraf’ party, the APML could be form an alliance with the PTI, he added.

However, he refused to work under the cricketer-turned politician, Imran Khan.

“If they (the PTI) want an alliance, certainly I would like to have an alliance. We have to come with a third political option because the two political options presently and in the past have been tried and failed. There is a need of coalition of forces which can bring about that third political option which can deliver to Pakistan.”

He mentioned in clear cut words that he would not work under the captain if he came into power. He stated he would neither work under Imran Khan nor anyone else in the next setup.

The former president, who was in a self-exile after leaving the presidency, announced to make a return to the country, rejecting the threats of being arrested under various cases.

Musharraf said that he was aware with the statements of his former associates who rejected to get him in the PTI. In his view they don’t have any vision and would be rejected by people of Pakistan in the general elections.

He affirmed that he would come back to Pakistan and would face all the cases bravely.
